Kitty Cougars

This week Emma has got to attend a cheerleading camp at the high school.  Then, this evening, they got to perform at the Alumni basketball games.  Emma was SO excited to show us her cheers!

Her only complaint of the night was that the ballgame took too long before they got to do their cheers!  They did a really cute job.

Emma was one of the 'flyers' for the finale.  So cute!

Lego

Ben loves Lego.  He is always building something.  I love seeing how creative he is.  This is one of his creations that he made this morning and asked if I would take a picture for him.

Happy Birthday, Lennard

It was the Montreal temple rededication today for church, so my parents went to the first session and then came for dinner to celebrate Lennard's birthday and then Lennard and I went to the afternoon session.

The kids were so excited for Lennard to open his presents.

Instead of birthday cake, we had apple crisp with ice cream!

It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas!

We don't normally put Christmas stuff up this early, but this year it just seemed time.  We pulled the tree up and get it decorated and then we pulled out our 'new-to-us' Christmas train!  A lady in our ward had been given this train as a present years ago, but she was downsizing some things and though of our family.  She brought it over to us this week and the kids have been so excited to get it set up!  It is quite amazing, all the cars have things that move and it makes a bunch of different sounds too.  We had to keep telling the kids that it was just to look at!  There ended up being about 4 corners that were missing, so we've ordered them online and they should be here next week.  It will be fun to see the train go around the tree instead of just back and forth a bit!

Time Together

We've spent more time at the hangar this week than we have at home.  It has been so fun being together and just hanging out.  We spent most of the day at the airport (again) and I managed to get the pictures of Lennard, his dad, his grandpa and his great-grandpa hung on the mezzanine.  I love seeing four generations of Nichols' men... now we'll just have to add a picture of Ben!

It was the Flying Club meeting tonight and Lennard was finally 'replaced' as the club president.  It's been four years!  I put the kids to bed in the trailer while they were still visiting.  It's sure nice to have somewhere nice to sleep instead of taking tired, cranky kids out into the cold to go home!

Hangar Time

With Lennard off work, we spent another morning at the hangar.  Emma was at school, so Ben got some one-on-one time with us.
Benny and his electronics...

We bought a couch off the buy and sell last night, so Lennard and Ben got to try it out.  We've now moved it upstairs so that the kids have somewhere to sit and watch movies.

More Paint

Lennard took the day off work and as soon as the kids were dropped off at school, we headed out to the airport and started painting the hangar.  I worked on the upstairs of the mezzanine so that it would be done before the kids got there and Lennard did the outside of the mezzanine.

That didn't take too long to do, so then we pulled out the workbench, took down the cupboards and bulletin board and started painting that wall too!  We painted until we ran out of paint and managed to get it all done before we had to get the kids from school!

We brought the kids out after school and managed to get everything put back/up by the early afternoon.  It's really changed the look of the hangar.  Now we'll have to go buy more paint so that we can start on the West wall.  We won't do the North wall or the ceiling until summer time when we can get the trailer out of the hangar.

Another Tooth!

Emma lost her second tooth tonight!  It had been more and more wiggly throughout the week and she really wanted me to pull it, but it was so tiny that the dental floss (waxed) just kept sliding off of it.  I finally grabbed some toilet paper and pulled... and it popped out!  Hooray for Emma!

Lennard's Dream

Ever since we built the hangar, Lennard has wanted to have a projector so that he could show a huge movie on the wall.  Well, tonight, his dream came true.  He borrowed a projector and we watched movies... we started with One Six Right, but quickly traded it for Top Gun!  His grin couldn't have got any bigger!  When I put the kids to bed in the trailer, he was still watching (and grinning)!

Paint

We started painting the hangar tonight!  The kids were thrilled to get to help.  Ben did more dancing than painting, but it definitely kept us entertained!  It's amazing how different the front door looks.  I'm looking forward to seeing the entire hangar done... just not looking forward to all the work involved to do it!  We were pretty stiff and sore tonight.

The Tooth Fairy Visited

It was such a fun morning when Emma discovered that the tooth fairy had come in the night!  Even better was that she'd left a toonie!  Emma did get told that the tooth fairy only gives that much for a first tooth though!  So fun seeing how excited she is - especially to go to school and show everyone!

Emma Lost a Tooth!

Emma's tooth has been wiggly for quite a while now, but it finally came out tonight!  She asked me if I would pull it (yikes!) and after seeing how loose it was, I decided to try.  Thankfully, it popped right out without too much effort.  Emma was SO excited!  I found the little tooth holder that B&T had sent her and she loved getting to put her tooth in the little pouch and find a special place to put it in her room so the tooth fairy could find it.  It almost made me a little sad to see her losing a tooth... she's growing up so fast!

See her tooth?!
