I got a phone call this morning from Shannon inviting us out for a weiner roast this evening. I was so happy to have something to look forward to! The kids had been ‘busy’ all morning and I was definitely ready for a distraction.
Once Lennard got home and changed, I grabbed a few things from the store and then we were on our way out to Beazer. Cody’s parents own land there and have a very nice set up. There is a nice creek running through that the kids were playing and swimming in. Ben was all about the sandy beach and loved the trucks that Shannon had brought out. After playing for a while, we all headed over to where they have a large fire pit to get some dinner going. The kids loved the big teepee and all the picnic tables and benches that they could climb on. They have a small zip line too that they all tried out.
We had such a nice time just sitting back and visiting while the kids ran and played. (Toone’s, Olsen’s, Hill’s, Katie and us) Such a perfect night. Very little bugs, no wind, just the right temperature. Awesome. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening. I didn’t want to leave, but we finally headed out about 8:30. Guess the kids were a little tired because they went right to bed and I haven’t heard a sound out of their rooms!
Can’t wait for the next evening out there (hint! hint!). Thanks, Cody & Shannon for the invite. We had a blast.
