Another Specialist Appointment

Lennard had another appointment with Dr. White in Calgary today.  My mom came to watch the kids until they went to school so that we could be there on time.

Unfortunately, he doesn't see any improvement from when he saw Lennard last. He wants him to keep using the bone re-generator machine for another month and then he'll have him have a CT scan in a month.  It looks like he might have to have surgery again... but at least it will be after we get back from Nauvoo!
Taking measurements for the research study he's part of.

Busy Day

I worked on getting the braiding strips done for Nauvoo today and managed to get 700 done! (only 600 shown here).  I am so grateful for all the sisters in our ward that have taken the time to cut the strips so that I could just tie them.

We'd taken the trailer in to be serviced in Lethbridge last week, so we finally took it back out to the hangar tonight.
The kids decided that the rock pile was a good place to play... they were SO dirty!  They were gray with rock dust.  Emma even had rocks embedded into her braids!
They had so much fun though!

Good Friends

Emma's friend Izzy got baptized today and she was so excited to get to attend.  I love seeing these girls grow up together.  They are just too cute!  Congrats on your special day, Izzy!
We are so blessed to have such good friends.

Track and Field Day

Grades 1 and 2 had their track and field day today.  I was glad that I was able to go see them 'compete'.  The only thing they get ribbons for is the 50m, 100m and 200m races.  The rest of the events - long jump, high jump, and ball throw, they just try their best.

Each of the events for grade 1 and 2 were at the exact same times, so I wasn't able to see every event for both Emma and Ben.  Thankfully, another parent took a few pictures for me!

I got all the races for both of them.  Megan took the close up of Ben running... I love how much he's concentrating!
Ben got a 3rd and 4th place finish in the 50m and 100m races.

Emma got a 1st and a 2nd in the same races.
It was a fun day.  I took the kids with me afterwards instead of sending them back to school for a half hour.  We went to the park and the kids had a blast just playing.

Piano Recital

The kids had their piano recital tonight.  I think we're all glad to get a break from piano for a while.  Ben played the "Imperial March" and Emma played "Grumpy Old Troll".  They both did a great job and my mom was able to pop in and watch them perform too.
Kaci has been their teacher for three years.  She got married last year and was planning on being gone by the time lessons started up again, so I arranged for a new piano teacher... and now she'll be here for a bit longer until she can get all the paperwork figured out to move to the States.
The kids have loved her as a teacher and I've enjoyed getting to know her.  Here's hoping that next years teacher will be just as great!

Campout

It was a PD day at school, so I took the kids to Lethbridge this morning and did a bunch of errands.  Then we decided to go hang out at the hangar.  I made foil packets to cook on the barbecue and we invited my parents to come eat with us.  We showed a movie up on the wall afterwards and ate snacks/popcorn and finally went to bed in the trailer!  It was a great way to spend the day.

Happy Mother's Day 2018

The kids were SO excited to get to give me their gifts that I didn't even get a chance to get dressed before I was guided out to the kitchen!

Emma made me a bird feeder (at Activity Days) and a picture of herself blowing me hearts (kisses).  She also gave me a chocolate bar! She even cut out the wood by herself (mostly)!  Such a cute girl!
Ben made me a card and hand knitted a pot holder for me!  His Grade 1 teacher is amazing to take on teaching twenty 6/7 year olds how to knit!  He was incredibly proud of himself and it made my heart melt to see his excitement.
 Such a sweet boy!
I tortured the family and made them pose for a picture after church... Emma even had to put her dress back on because she can't stand to be in it any longer than necessary!  ha! ha!  I sure love this little family of mine.  I am so blessed to get to be a wife and a mom.

Fun at the Airport

It's our turn to help clean the church this month, so we hurried and got our part done this morning.  We just got home in time to watch Gideon and Sarah while the rest of the family went to the temple.  They didn't get done until early afternoon, so as soon as they were gone, we headed out to help at the airport.  Ben got to drive the tractor 'by himself' and did a great job helping Grandpa smooth out some gravel.  He was pretty proud of himself.
Emma loved 'helping' Dad in the loader.
Ben had to have a turn to... at least standing there and getting a picture!
It's been a busy day, but we got a lot accomplished!

Dance Recital

It's been a busy week of work for both Lennard and me...then we added Emma's dance rehearsal last night that went on for hours.  We were excited to see her perform, but we were really hoping it would go better than the rehearsal!  ha! ha!

Thankfully, it was a wonderful program.  The girls did a great job.  Ben was a bit of a pill to get him to sit still through it, but we made it!

Margit, Finley, Brinley, Emma, and Rachel

Miss Stephanie is such a wonderful dance teacher.  She has so much patience with these girls, and Emma loves her!

Sleeping Beauty

Emma had the opportunity to perform in Waterton today.  They did scenes from Sleeping Beauty.  Her class were 'birds' that wake up Sleeping Beauty.

Not the greatest picture, but it was dark!
After their performance, they had the chance to watch the ballet, Gisele, on the big screen.  Emma only lasted about ten minutes, so we ended up just leaving.  There was no way she was going to sit for another two hours!

Instead, she got to play on the playground for a few minutes and then we went to check out Cameron Falls.  This was the first time we've been to Waterton since the huge fire and it's sure sad to see all the damage that has occurred.  We were glad to see the trees by the falls had made it.
It was a long day and Emma had a hard time with her costume and the sequins on it.  By the end of the day she was raw from them rubbing against her skin.  She's nervous about having to wear it again next weekend for her recital.

New Hitch

Lennard has been absolutely loving his new truck... and it just got better!  He was able to install a plug inside the bed of the truck so we can plug the fifth wheel trailer in.  I was nervous to have him drill a hole in the truck, but it turned out great!

Then the best thing ever... (in his opinion)... he got a BW hitch for the truck!  He's been wanting one ever since we got a trailer (years ago), but when this truck came with the receiver already installed it was a done deal.
He had it installed shortly after he got home from work!
I sure loved seeing his excitement and I'm always impressed with how he can just figure out how to install all these kinds of things.  He is so smart and a handy guy to have around!
This will make hauling the trailer to Nauvoo this summer so much easier!

Baseball

Ben started Coach-Pitch baseball again today.  He was pretty excited, but I couldn't convince him to wear shorts instead of jeans.  Oh well... he got an awesome hit on his very first time up to bat!
