We wanted to go play at the hoodoos before it got too hot… but it was still stifling! Who knew that 9:00 in the morning could be that hot. The kids (and Lennard) had an absolute blast playing and climbing around the hoodoos. I just tried not to melt as I took pictures of their adventures!
After the hoodoos, we went to check out the Atlas Coal Mines, but decided against going in as we couldn’t take the kids down into the mine until they were both six. It was a little pricey for the admission as the tours were on top of the general admission. We headed back and stopped at the Rosedale suspension bridge.
The kids thought it was fun that the bridge moved as we walked. I walked like I’d been drinking! It was entertaining for Lennard at least!
We then decided to climb the world’s largest dinosaur! It was quite the climb! Of course the kids had absolutely no problem, but I was feeling it by the time we reached the top.
The view from the mouth of the dinosaur was great. We got an overview of the spray park and wading pool and the city of Drumheller. Ben was more intrigued with the fact that some people had thrown money into the mouth of the dinosaur! It was pretty cool with all the murals that are painted inside the dinosaur. At least I had something to look at while I panted! Ha! Ha!
After a quick lunch, we hit the spray park again and this time I put my swimming suit on. We had a blast! I got soaked and it felt great! We spent most of the afternoon there again! We had a relaxing evening with dinner out at the picnic table (after we cleaned off all of Emma’s dirt creations) and watched a movie in the trailer to try to cool down a bit. We took the kids out to McDonald’s for ice cream and just had fun being together.
