We were invited out to Toone’s land to go play in the creek and the kids had a blast! I thoroughly enjoyed myself too, although the creek wasn’t the draw… I sat and visited with Shannon the entire afternoon while the kids played! It was the best way to spend a nice, hot summer afternoon.
The bigger boys were all over the place playing on rafts, trying to catch fish and exploring. Thankfully the little ones were content to play in the shallow water and make rock/sand castles. The boys finally gave the little ones a ride in the boat and they thought it was pretty fun.
Emma was okay as long as they were close to the edge, but she and Izzy wanted out after a short while. Ben and Auri would have stayed in the rest of the afternoon if they could have! They even went under the ‘bridge’ and thought they were pretty cool.
I love that Ben has sticks in place for the oars. Maybe someday he’ll go rowing all by himself… or with Auri. We’d be okay with that!
