Lennard took the day off work today so that we could all go to Calgary to take Grandpa Nichols to the airport. I was so glad that I wasn’t by myself. The roads ended up being really rotten and then when we got to the airport we discovered that his flight had just been cancelled! Lennard stood in line with his dad to get things figured out while I took the kids to a play area and let them run around and get some energy out.
They finally got him all checked in for a 4:00ish flight and we were able to say goodbye before they took him through security. The kids were sad to see him go, but we’ve enjoyed having him stay with us for the Christmas holidays. Just wish we hadn’t all been sick almost the entire time!
His rescheduled flight ended up being pushed as well. He was so late getting home. He was supposed to get home around 1:30, but he didn’t get home until after 10:00 by the time he stopped to get something to eat. Such a long day for him.
