Checkin’ Off our Summer Bucket List!

It has been such a great Saturday!  We got up ‘nice and early’ – thanks for the 5:30 wake-up call, Ben (no sarcasm there), had a yummy breakfast and then decided that it was way too nice to not take the chance to go flying!  We dressed the kids quickly, dropped them off at our neighbors (thanks, Mishel!) and headed to the airport!  We only got about 45 minutes in the air as we had to be back by 10:00, but it was nice to get away by ourselves and for me to start learning some of the things I’m going to have to know for our flight to the Maritimes this summer!

Lennard headed down to Babb with Kendall as soon as we got back to get a swing set that they had ordered and then, when he got home, we worked in the backyard for a while.  We got another garden box ready for planting (not planted yet, but hopefully this week!).  The weather was still nice, so Lennard couldn’t resist going back up flying.  He took another neighbor (Aaron) with him and they went out and around Waterton.  Not bad getting 1 1/2 hours of flying time today!

We decided that we would check off a couple of our bucket list items and took the kids in to Waterton for a picnic and playtime at the park.  What a good way to spend the evening.  The kids had a blast on the playground – so much that they didn’t eat much of anything, but I’m still counting that we at least tried to have a picnic!  (We will try again though).

After playtime and the miniscule bites of food we managed to get into the kids, we headed down to throw some rocks into the lake.  We could have stayed here all evening and the kids would have been completely content.  It was a bit chilly by then, but they didn’t notice.

I feel so blessed when I look at these pictures.  Not only do we live in a beautiful part of the world, but I have the best little family ever!  I really can’t ask for anything more.
