Family Vacation–Day Four

We loaded everything up bright and early and were on the road by about 8:30am.  We wanted to get to Calaway Park when it opened to avoid some of the line-ups.  We ended up getting there about a half hour after it opened and surprised the kids.  We hadn’t told them where we were going!

The bumper cars were the first stop and they even managed to drive the cars this year!  They wanted to go on them again as soon as the ride ended, but we managed to convince them to try another ride.  We went on the bumper boats next.  They were too small to go on them last year, so they were excited to get to try them out this year.  It got a little crazy with Emma taking over and trying to steer the boat.  We ended up going in circles a lot of the time and one random kid decided that we were a good target and soaked me every chance he got!

We went on whatever ride the kids wanted to go on, although I let Lennard take them on the strawberries while I watched.  Too much turning for my stomach on that one!  We even got to ride the train this year as it wasn’t working last year.  The kids thought it was great fun.

We tried out the new Timber Falls ride and it was hilarious.  I was freaking out way more than the kids were.  The first drop I screamed like a baby!  Emma thought it was the best.  As soon as we finished they wanted to go again, but with such a long line-up it wasn’t happening this time.  I was soaked, but it was a lot of fun.  We finally headed out about 3:00 to head home.  The kids weren’t happy to leave, but it only took about ten minutes of driving and both of them were asleep!  It’s been such a fun vacation!
