Happy New Year?!?

I woke up with a head cold.  Lennard was so kind and took the kids to the kitchen and let me sleep until 8:30!  I haven't done that in a very, very long time.

We were finished breakfast and were working on getting the kids rooms cleaned up, when we got a phone call from the RCMP.  They asked if Lennard had his wallet and upon checking he realized that he had inadvertently left it in his truck last night... and someone broke in to the truck.   Apparently, they used the card at Extra Foods and someone who knew Lennard noticed them using his card and notified authorities.  Thank goodness.  We were able to cancel his credit cards and debit card, but not before they had rung up over $400 of charges.  Gotta love the 'tap' feature... grrrrr!

Thankfully, the police were able to use the security camera footage and find the individual.  At least we know he will be charged with possession of stolen property and fraud.  Not exactly the best way to start out the new year, but it could have been a lot worse... look for the good... right?!

As for our Disney countdown - we got to play a new Disney matching game that the kids loved.  It was super simple to play, so that helped me too.  I'm exhausted and ready to head back to bed! Lennard has been at the airport all afternoon and still isn't home, so I'm going to go read to the kids and see if I can get them in to bed within the next half hour!
