The day started out early with Lennard's dad leaving to head home and us heading out to the airport for the Fly-In breakfast. Unfortunately, it was rainy and completely clouded over so the Fly-in became a drive in breakfast. Even with the rotten weather, we still fed over 80 people so it was okay. As soon as we were slowing down, we said our goodbyes and headed home. It was hard watching mom say goodbye to the kids as they will be gone on a six week mission to Nauvoo before we get back.
We got the last few things out of the house, got the trailer hooked up, and were on our way by 10:45. The kids fell asleep not too long after we left and only woke up when we stopped in Sparwood to see the giant truck. We thought that Ben would be excited to see the truck, but it was Emma that thought it was pretty neat. Ben wouldn't go near it initially. I think he thought it would start moving. Eventually we got a couple pictures of him with the truck. We made sandwiches in the truck for lunch and then we were on our way again at 1:50.
We fuelled up in Cranbrook and then, while we were driving decided to keep going instead of stopping in Yahk for the night like we had planned. We made it through the border without any issues. We were really glad that we weren't trying to go in to Canada as there was a huge lineup!
We finally stopped in Sandpoint, Idaho for the night at 6:00. It took us a bit to find a campsite, but thankfully I have an app on the iPad that gave us an address for one. It wasn't great, pretty much a parking lot, but we didn't really care by then. It was right next to a lake and there was a great kids playground nearby so that made it a good fit for the kids. The big drawback, besides the lack of space, etc was that we were right next to the train tracks! Whenever a train would go by (which was frequently), the entire trailer would shake!
