Wind, Rain, and Waterfalls

We had a very lazy, relaxed morning. The kids snuggled with Lennard a while, we had French toast for breakfast, and then we all got showers. By the time we got on the road it was 10:00 (9:00 BC time).

We have never seen so many trains before! They are everywhere!  The wind was crazy again today and the rainy weather made things interesting driving in too.

We happened to see a sign for the Bonneville Fish Hatchery, so we stopped. It was a free, self-guided tour that was actually quite interesting. The kids loved seeing all the different fish. There was a sturgeon viewing area that was amazing. The size of some of the sturgeon was amazing!

Less than half an hour down the road, we took the scenic route to find some waterfalls. Little did we know how narrow this scenic route would be!  There were a few white knuckle moments getting to the Multnommah Falls. This picture shows some of the widest areas!

Luckily we found a place to park our monster and we were able to go check out the waterfall. It was quite amazing...even in the rain!  The kids wanted to walk up to the bridge so we did. Super easy walk, and well worth it. If it hadn't been raining I think we would have kept going to the top if the falls.

We made it to Woodburn by 1:30 and got everything set up. It was a crazy drive as the rain was wild and visibility wasn't great. We're going to be here the rest of the week, so it will be nice to be a little more settled. We made a grocery run to WalMart and got one of our propane tanks filled and then just played and hung out the rest of the afternoon. It's been nice not to be in the truck.

There is a bit of a field that we played frisbee with the kids this evening.

It's been a good day overall.
